When I saw you write that about DN while saying YYH is typical shonen, I suspected that might have been the case. >_> (Actually I suspected you just watched the tournament episodes of the anime.) If you're saying every page of a manga has to be good before the whole thing is good then yeah, you're free to dismiss YYH, but you admit that parts of DN is subpar, so you can't use that excuse (some of it is bad = all of it is bad) on YYH. Go finish it and then we'll talk.

No, I'm very much right about YYH. It was a typical shounen. And I did watch some of the episodes after the Tournament and was glad that I dropped it.

I didn't say Death Note's second half was subpar, I said it was FLAWED yet GOOD. I admit it wasn't as good as the first arc, which was excellent, but it was still great.

That wasn't the case of YYH, which Spirit Detective Arc was good, nothing mindblowing but entertaining enough to go through, the Dark Tournament had to be one of the most boring tournaments I ever witness in shounen period, and read summaries and watching some of the stuff after made me glad that I wasn't following it regular after that.

Your argument is flawed no matter what you say because YYH fits into every reason you give for DN being a good Jump manga. You're free to dislike YYH, but if YYH was judged by the exact standards you just put forward, then it's a good manga. I quote:

it was one of the best Jump titles because it went against the typical Jump themes (any Jump fan with years on their back will tell you Togashi battled Jump the magazine itself) and used mental battles (see: all of the territories arc, much of what came after) instead of physical battles and not everyone was a good guy (the end of YYH is basically about the ideas of good and evil defined in the earlier volumes being overturned completely).

I'm not talking subjective opinions, here. I'm talking logic.

Too bad it's at the END of the SERIES. That doesn't make all that shit I have to plow though better. I'm not going to call it a good series because it had one small arc of a good plot. I will still say it was mostly crap with one arc that was good. Plus Yusuke was still the good guy even if it does a turnabout.

With Death Note, what was morally right and wrong was never clear to begin since, hell, its whole theme was based on that.
