... i guess it is patronizing. xD sorry, i was just in an argument with some anons about me not thinking that the positive reactions i got for being a girl were sexist. thinking about it and seeing this vent kind of makes me realize that it is rude. i was never really put on a pedestal though, which is why i guess i didn't interpret it as patronizing.

oh and yeah the sales clerks are bitches. except the last time i /was/ buying nascar 08 for my brother...

Hey, if that sort of thing doesn't make you feel bad, more power to you. It's a situational thing, I think. Even if I think they had a bit of a point, you don't have to let some bitchy anons tell you how you should feel about a personal situation, you know? I think that if girls are interested in games, they should be encouraged. But to me, there is a difference between encouraging a girl to do something less traditionally "feminine" and sort of... taking it to the next level where some you get all the creepy up-on-a-pedestal action where it's ALL about being a girl gamer and not so much with... just being a gamer, plain and simple. I don't know anything about your situation, and really, it's up to you to decide if it makes you feel uncomfortable or not, or if you like it, or what category it falls into, etc etc etc.

yeah, i get what you mean. there's a difference between a guy being like, 'wow, you're a girl gamer, that's so cool' and then dropping it (like all my friends have done) and then the ones that stay fixated on it (like i'm assuming yours did?).
