But the fact that it's the "obvious" ship for those two and is shipped (supposedly) by most of the same people who do ship most of the other obvious, popular ships doesn't add up. If you actually like it and don't like any of the other obvious ships, that's more believable to me, since my point was that the dynamics are different.

Yeah, but if a pairing's everyone's third favourite ship, they're never gonna give it as much attention as the ships they prefer. It doesn't mean they're lying about liking it, it's just never gonna be their top priority.

Though it does seem like a lot of F/F ships happen as a sort of retaliation to the fact that fans don't want the girls to be paired up with any of the dudes they're slashing, rather than because they genuinely enjoy the pairing for what it is. Which is better than blindly hating them for being "in the way", but.
