What [livejournal.com profile] dosage says. And honestly? FS isn't a problem most of the time, but there are some comms where it's a pain in the ass to refresh just to switch journals. (not to mention that the method the secret says takes you back to the page and not to the thread, which can also be in a pain the ass)

Too lazy to log out Don't want to bother logging out, excuse the rp journal.

[identity profile] srsfnbsns.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
*cries emo tears* IT'S SO HARD! WHY IS TECHNOLOGY SO FUCKING HARD! PUSHING A BUTTON TAKES TOO MUCH EFFORT! CRY FOR ME ARGENTINA!

[identity profile] hentai-satsuki.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't forget that not everyone has broadband in this day and age -HOW COULD THEY- and that getting pages and images to load up multiple times can take, and I know this is surprising, minutes before you can do anything else.

That and my computer slows down like a fucking bitch in molasses when I'm downloading porn, man.

[identity profile] crystaldawn.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
True story, I have a friend that I have to c/p secrets and responses to when we get a funny one because her dial up can't handle SEVENTY-FUCKING-PLUS LARGE IMAGES HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

[identity profile] srsfnbsns.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I had dial-up in the not too distant past. I'd load up a page and then stop it while it was loading the images. Then I'd right click and view image to see image of my choice. You deal with what you got.

[identity profile] kinneas.livejournal.com 2008-03-14 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
And you can deal with it yourself. Seriously, why do you give such a shit if people use their rp journals? They find it inconvenient to switch, WHO CARES?

[identity profile] srsfnbsns.livejournal.com 2008-03-14 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Get with the program here. It's the part that they admit that they're too lazy to switch their accounts that's fucking stupid.

[identity profile] kinneas.livejournal.com 2008-03-14 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I think giving so much of a shit is more the problem here :)

I mean seriously, aren't you going against the very nature of your screenname here? Haha.

[identity profile] srsfnbsns.livejournal.com 2008-03-14 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
It is SRS FN BSNS, which means I can get as srs or as irreverent as I want. Right now I'm choosing to say "LAZY FUCKS ARE FUCKING LAZY!"

[identity profile] kinneas.livejournal.com 2008-03-14 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Rofl, you remind me of the girl who tried to argue that Southerners in the North who want sweet tea are too lazy to stir sugar in cold brew.

[identity profile] srsfnbsns.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Even with dial-up, it doesn't take that long. I recently switched from ye olde copper wire dial-up, and yeah, it was slow, but it didn't take ten years to load. If it took two minutes, I'd be over in another window looking at something else. It's not that fucking hard. There is no excuse you can make that will justify this laziness.

[identity profile] infringe.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It's also not that fucking hard to realize you're getting worked up over people who are TOO LAZY to log out?? Uh.

[identity profile] srsfnbsns.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey man, the internet is SRS FN BSBS!

I'm just arguing that people these days are fucking lazy, period. But being lazy about the internet? That's a sure sign that you weigh 500lbs and piss on yourself cause you can't be bothered to actually walk to the toilet.

[identity profile] infringe.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
It's the INTERNET. I thought being online itself is pret. lazy.

[personal profile] convault 2008-03-13 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
WAIT so what's so bad about NOT logging out? Do you have some EXTREME PHOBIA OF RP JOURNALS?? If you tell 'em, they'll understand and logout for you! If not, then why the fuck would anyone want to reload a page with 80+ images just so they won't be SEEN AS LAZY OH MY GOD? Is it SO DIFFICULT to find out who you're talking to? Most people will tell you! Or will when you ask!

Is there some other reason? Did someone who replied via RPjournal KILL YOUR FATHER and RAPE YOUR LITTLE SISTER and STAB YOU IN THE FACE? What's your beef?

Does it MATTER that they're replying with an RP journal? You're essentially replying to the SAME PERSON

and Fizzy's 80 fucking pounds

how much do YOU weigh?

[identity profile] srsfnbsns.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
RP JOURNALS TRIGGER ME! I GO BACK TO THAT DEEP DARK PLACE LONG AGO WHEN I WAS RAPED BY AN RP JOURNAL! FUCK YOU! DON'T MOCK MY PAIN!

And since we're talking SRS BSNS. I'm overweight. I weigh 180 lbs when I should be about 150. I have a jiggly jelly rolls and thighs like tree trucks that can pop your head like a water balloon. I think it's also safe to say that if it came down to a fight between you and my tits, they'd pwn your ass.

[personal profile] convault 2008-03-13 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
YES THAT ANSWERED THE QUESTION THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING

if you SAY you have issues with RPjournals and to prz prz prz don't do it, people won't, as long as you're reasonable.

And hey, TMI as much as you want, but I didn't ask for DETAILS AUUUUUUUGH

[identity profile] labellesansbra.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
In my case, half the time I don't care. Oh noes, it's my RP account. Now you know my dirty secret. It's not like you can't see people's RP accounts from their profiles half the time.

Hence the "don't want to bother logging out".

(But I will also say that the speed is the biggest thing most people don't anyway. I used to have a computer that had a three gb harddrive and like 256 mbs of RAM and even with cable, it made me want to cry. so. some people connect to the internet using bubblegum and paperclips.)

[identity profile] srsfnbsns.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Really, I don't care what account people are commenting from. I barely notice that it's an rp account.

It's when people have to sit there and go "LOL! Commenting from RP account cause I'm too lazy to switch!" that just makes me boggle. Too lazy to switch, but still need to tell the world how lazy they are by taking more time to type that up than it would to switch? Unreal.

(I used to have a no name comp I bought from the Salvation Army that ran on Windows 98 and didn't have a modem when I got it. I had to put it in just so I could use dial-up. This was within the last two years.)

[identity profile] labellesansbra.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I know in the past the widget-- LJ login had some problems too, but eh. NOT EVERYONE USES it but once again, it's a lot faster if you're in a thread to say "excuse me for the account" then try to reload something AGAIN, depending on what's going on the page. Different people, different strokes.

(the one I had ran on Windows 98, too! we ended up having dial up eventually and I just kind of let it rot for months because I couldn't load anything eventually. :( This was, however, years ago)

[identity profile] srsfnbsns.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, sometimes the little bitch just logs me out. But eh, two mouse clicks and I'm in again. 'Sides, if I'm going somewhere that I know I'm going to comment, I switch journals BEFORE I click so I don't have to reload at all. Advance planning, I gots it.

(As far as I know, my old comp is still chugging in the hands of my nieces.)

[identity profile] labellesansbra.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I've had this weird thing where it refuses to let me switch and then freezes firefox for a few seconds. And yeah, I try to switch my journal before I do any refreshing or loading. BUT UH HONESTLY? This account has like ten times as many icons as my other one does and I just don't caaare. But then I might have to decide between my five million sockpuppet journals.

(I eventually got a new one but I have noooo idea what happened to the old one)

Most people these days have laptops that run AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT. People NEED TO KEEP UP WITH MACHINES or one day WE WILL BE TAKEN OVER BY CYBORGS.

THERE'S NO TIME TO LOG IN AND OUT THE WAY YOU DO. YOU'RE GONNA COST US THE WAR AGAINST ROBOTS. ಠ_ಠ

See, I just let people know that so they don't go "Wait, who the fuck is Ling Tong? Do I know a Ling Tong?" b-because it's happened to me before and people DIDN'T point it out to me, and it took me a few minutes to register it was the same person with a different account.

lol I'm slow.

[identity profile] srsfnbsns.livejournal.com 2008-03-14 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
H ha ha! I can't imagine that anything I had to say to a friend would ever be so important that I couldn't log out and say it to them "in person" as it were. If you RP together and are being silly, fine, but commenting in someone's personal journal with your RP journal? It just seems tacky.

Not that I could comment with an RP journal in my friends' journals, they mostly lock them.
