even after going through so many fandoms they're still the one that you cherish the most. If so, who?

Spock. The original Nimoy Spock of course. No matter how many fandoms I wander into, a good Spock fic or Spock discussion will always bring me back. Nimoy's death hit me really hard.

I'd say Steve Rogers, but I am still very much in that fandom still (plus he is one of my newest loves).

So instead, I shall pick the character that basically shaped the character archetype I will always crush on. The asshole with a soft center (that is sometimes buried very deep)

Hermione Granger and Rogue (from X-Men). Sakura from Naruto to some degree.

Gandalf. I fell in love at the "Good Morning" speech when I first read The Hobbit when I was 8, and he has never left the top spot since.

Sailor Moon, but not just her because it's like, all the girls in that series. I cherish those girls so much.

Soundwave and Optimus Prime from Transformers. Out of my entire gaggle of cherished characters, they are my favorites.

Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin. He's just so sweet and goofy while still being a badass. I wanted to be like him when I grew up. I mean, as a nice person who tried to avoid violence, not a manslayer haunted by his past.

Ash Ketchum, tbh. I was an animal nut who couldn't have animals due to living in the city and I got all my protecting-and-caring-for-unfortunate-creatures proxy-catharsis through him.

Original flavour Leonard H. McCoy. And, in terms of archetypes that I subsequently crushed on A LOT, Slanter from The Wishsong of Shannara. He's responsible for so many of my loves since I was a kid.

Vetinari, of course. There have been some competitors over time, but even if they take over my heart for a while, Vetinari always comes out on top again eventually.

That used to be Darth Vader and Hermione Granger for me.

Ever since joining the Tolkien fandom, though, it has become Mairon/Sauron. Just something about this character works for me. I can't even really entirely explain it. I've joined some other fandoms since then, but nothing quite clicks as much as this one does.

Jack Sparrow. He'll always have a special place in my heart.

To be honest, it always feels like I get attached to one character in a movie/tv show, and then after my moment in that fandom, I have a piece of them with, as if they have been my mentor/love and will always be with me in a way.

I suppose the most telling aspect of this would be that I take on either style or some of the character's mannerisms along with me IRL.
