Re: Do you tend to have dreams when you sleep?

Dreaming and sleeping peacefully are not mutually exclusive for me. But yeah, I sometimes dream pretty stupid stuff, too. So far I've had four nightmares only (by my definition), and I tend to have repeat dreams and dream sequels.

Oh, and I'm usually someone else in my dreams, or watching from a third person omniscient perspective. I'm very often aware that I'm dreaming, and sometimes when I notice that, I can change the direction of my dream.

I have dream sequels ALL THE TIME.

I also have "fake" dream sequels, where I feel as if the dream I just dreamed was a sequel to a previous dream, but it actually wasn't, it was the first time I dreamed about that thing.

Yeah, I've had a few fake dream sequels, too, and fake repeats (which I only notice when I try to change the direction when I'm dreaming and it doesn't work).

Oooh, you can change the direction of your dreams while dreaming? Is that something you personally just can do, or is it something that can be learned?

I've heard that you can actually learn it. It's called lucid dreaming and allows you to choose the topic of your dream and lead it into any direction you want.

I'm not a lucid dreamer, though, but often enough I'm aware that I'm dreaming and can influence my dreams a little bit.
