Do you tend to have dreams when you sleep?

(Anonymous) 2016-04-02 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Or do you sleep peacefully? Or do you have nightmares?

I dream and/or have nightmares just about every night, myself

Always nightmares. I have more the more stressed I am but regardless....nightmares.

Having dreams and sleeping peacefully are not mutually exclusive to me at all? I usually have slightly surreal, very soothing and happy slow-paced dreams about fantastical nature or flying very high, or about being mouse-sized while walking around on restaurant/movie theater/store floors (it's been a recurring dream for ages).

That honestly sounds amazing. Do you wake up feeling refreshed after these dreams?

Both. I also move a lot in my sleep.

I have occasional dreams, but they're usually so mundane that when I wake up I get confused and have to process that the dream didn't actually happen. Although I did dream that me and my mum were fighting zombies in an apocalypse the other night...

Not that I remember. I have made it so that I have to log my dreams on my phone before my alarm gets turned off in the morning, but most of the time I just write question marks as I don't remember them.

Sometimes I have dreams. Usually reflecting what's going on in RL and I actually feel more rested when I wake up.

It varies, I can go for weeks not remembering my dreams at all and then I'll have a week like last week where all my dreams were really vivid and strange. No nightmares though, I don't tend to get them(but when I do they're awful).

Re: Do you tend to have dreams when you sleep?

(Anonymous) 2016-04-02 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I usually only remember my dreams if wake up an hour before my alarm goes off and I go back to sleep. Usually it's about work.

I did have a nightmare(?) about Slenderman last night though. What's weird is that nightmare usually wake me up and this one... didn't. It was just: normal dream > Slenderman interlude > normal ass dream.

Re: Do you tend to have dreams when you sleep?

(Anonymous) 2016-04-02 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
'normal ass dream'

ok i read that as you dream about asses a lot to the point that it's considered a normal dream for you haha

I have never dreamed ever. I have never had a nightmare. When I sleep, it's peaceful.

I don't sleep peacefully at all. I remember most of my dreams and they're all kinda weird. Not creepy weird, just, "Huh, where'd my brain get that from?" kinda weird. I get nightmares if I end up asleep on my back.

Re: Do you tend to have dreams when you sleep?

Almost never remember my dreams, when I do they are - not nightmares but basically always anxiety/stress dreams, where someone is chasing me and I have to hide or whatever

I think I can remember having one uncomplicatedly good dream ever

Re: Do you tend to have dreams when you sleep?

(Anonymous) 2016-04-02 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Most about sex, but usually not me having great sex, or about nice uncomplicated porn playing in my brain, unfortunately.

It's usually super bizarre, like it involves being interrupted in the middle by finding another few random couples having sex while burrowed deep down under the covers in the same bed (while the bed is suddenly like those Kid's Ball Pits at McDonalds), or really weird sexual practices being treated as totally normal, like the dude I was trying to get with masturbating by holding the hotel room door almost closed while humping the crack between door and doorjamb and shooting off into the hotel hallway?????? That's just one example.

I tend not to dream more often than I do, but when I do dream it tends to come in waves (i.e., I'll dream just about every night for a few weeks, then no dreams at all for months). Right now I'm in the middle of a dreams period, though most of my dreams this week have really just been about back pain :P

Everyone dreams every night, though? The majority of people forget most or everything of the dream/s they had that night. And yes, you usually have more than one dream during a full night's sleep.

I typically sleep pretty soundly; exceptions are when I'm close to waking up, which is when my more mundane dreams occur, or when I'm just starting to doze off (especially if I fall asleep as I listen to music) in which case all the really insane crap spills out. If I have nightmares, it's usually in the latter, but they're so short and constantly changing that it doesn't really affect me. I just strap in for the ride; it's like channel surfing in hell.

The worst nightmares are the ones I have right before I wake up. Anything to do with my dog especially.

Dreaming and sleeping peacefully are not mutually exclusive for me. But yeah, I sometimes dream pretty stupid stuff, too. So far I've had four nightmares only (by my definition), and I tend to have repeat dreams and dream sequels.

Oh, and I'm usually someone else in my dreams, or watching from a third person omniscient perspective. I'm very often aware that I'm dreaming, and sometimes when I notice that, I can change the direction of my dream.

I have pretty whacky dreams when I remember them. Anxiety dreams when I'm really stressed. Intense, realistic nightmares when my head's all messed up.

I'm on laxatives at the moment and repeatedly have dreams about shitting myself. I think the two may be related.

Yes, I have lots of dreams, usually pretty vivid. Mostly they are good dreams, though I have the occasional nightmare.

I almost NEVER remember my dreams. (Thank goodness.)

But when I was on mood stabilizers, I remembered my dreams all the damn time. And they were all messed-up.)

Lucid/semi-lucid dreams fairly often. Flying around, fantasy adventures, beautiful landscapes, I fucking love dreaming.

I think my best one was when I dreamed I was Cloud and fought Sephiroth and kicked his ass. So satisfying.
Haven't had a nightmare in years, since I can usually wake myself up if a dream goes south - if, that is, I don't just fly away from the scene and go do whatever.

I rarely have nightmares anymore, only slightly more uncomfortable weird dreams, compared to the less uncomfortable weird dreams.

But I rarely remember them.
