I mean...people don't like incomplete things. if you are not going to finish something, then fans of that thing are not going to be happy.

This. I've stopped reading WIPs (other than those by a select group of authors I trust to actually finish them) because the ones that I love and get abandoned piss me off, and I really don't need that in my life.

So, on the one hand, I'm not part of OP's audience because s/he's obviously unreliable when it comes to finishing WIPs, so I know I'm not touching them. But OTOH, I still have sympathy for the readers who are newer/more naive than I am and who read OP's WIPs only to get burned.

I think I'm doing just fine in that I've identified an unnecessary annoyance in my life and determined what I need to do in order for it to not annoy me (namely, avoiding it entirely). But thanks for your concern.

Same. I have a ton of unfinished WIPs sitting around that I haven't posted because I have no idea whether I'm ever going to finish them or not.
