I don't like reading WIPs.

So I only read stories that are marked "complete" on AO3.

Problem solved.

Seriously, there is a check box right there. If an unfinished WIP will trigger someone that much, it's their responsibility to check the damned thing.

Your logic and common sense do not belong here!!

Some people do not understand how that works, sadly. I've clicked on no less than 5 fics this week that were marked 1/1 or 2/2 where that's just the amount of chapters the author had written and didn't know how long the story would actually be.

Yeah, it amazes that some people have such a hard time figuring out how ao3 works, or are being asshats and lying so they can play the system and get more views.

I've had the same experience. It's really frustrating: I filter out incomplete stories for a reason, and mistagged WIPs are a complete waste of my time and the author's (because once I've had a shitty reading experience, I'm not coming back; I'm just putting the author on my personal no-fly list).

Yep, this. Don't like WIPs? They trigger you and make you sad? There's a super easy and super obvious solution...

Yeah, I've been doing this as well. Can't get disappointed by WIP's if you don't read them!
