Re: Things you want to say but got no one to say to

i have my driving license's theory test tomorrow and i didn't study shit because i'm terryfied of driving a car and having that kind of responsibility (my dad was in a incident years ago and was almost killed, stayed in hospital for months). but if i don't pass i'll look like a loser because basically everyone pass that kind of test... but... i don't think i can... (I live in Italy so maybe in other countries you don't even have theory tests for driving licence??? idek i'm too drunk and tired to check)

bonus: i'm currently living like a wannabe hikikomori (going outside like 2 times a month???) and i think i have huge problems but not the courage to seek help. everytime i think i could be depressed and in dire need of help i just think "wait, i won a scholarship last year and passed my exams like a pro! i should be the happiest and most successful human ever" and i'm back to square one.
fuck my life, seriosuly. i need to do something about this shit but i don't have the strenght.

TL;DR: fuck driving licence tests

I didn't pass my test the first time, and I passed by next text by only one point. I can drive just fine. I drive a ton and have never been in an accident yet.

Not passing the first time doesn't make you a loser.

In the US, it's done on a state by state basis. In my state, you take a written test, then you have 6 hours of instruction, then a minimum 6 months of permitted driving (a licensed driver must be in the car with you) before you can even take the driver's test.

I passed the written exam by 2 questions (Out of 50) and have never been in an accident.

Good luck!

My state has the written test (all randomized questions), then you get your permit.

You keep it for like a year, you CAN take driving classes or just have your parents ride with you as you learn, then you can take the practical for your license.

I was over 18 and just did the written, got the permit, drove for like a month, then passed the practical. *shrug*

It varies so much state to state. My state has one of the highest insurance rates and we're super densely populated so things are a bit stricter here.

Here in Italy it's a test with 40 questions true or false (5 wrong answer and you've got to retake it) and then you have a permit to drive for 6 months before taking the driving test (you can take it a month after passing the first test), but only with someone else with 10+ years of driving experience in the car with you.

The questions are very tricky sometimes and sometimes they have no sense at all (like "consuming alcohol makes driving more stimulating and fun. True or False?" MMMMH I WONDER)

Thanks for the answers guys! Much appreciated <3

with us, we have to have someone over 21 to ride with us if we have our permit and are under 18. Though we usually still have them even over 18, but it's not exactly...strict there.

Well...hahaha, considering we usually have jokes about our drivers here....>_>;;

We can have some fairly cheap rates and shit, so....

Get help. There is no "should" when it comes to happiness. If you're not happy, you're not happy, and there's no rule saying that you're not allowed to seek help to become less unhappy if you achieved X amount of success last year. Exams and scholarships have jack shit to do with happiness. In fact, a lot of the most intelligent and accomplished people are more unhappy than less accomplished people precisely because of these kinds of bullshit societal expectations.

Also, try making it a rule to go out once every day or every other day (depending on what your living situation is like) even if it's only for an hour or so. If you can't think of anything you want to do, just walk and count it as exercise.

idk about Italy but where I'm from it's pretty common for people to fail the written test the first time.

also, I'm sure you know this on a logical level, but just want to say: being outwardly successful does not mean your depression, or whatever issue you have, isn't real or valid or messing you up. Please get help anon! It is worth it!
