I'm in kind of the same boat where I want something that's super light and portable. Which pretty much means, something expensive. You can get some laptops in the 5-pound range for $350-$400, but if you're going to pay that much, I'd rather pay a little more and get a surface, which I wouldn't have to use as a tablet and is super light.

Super light laptops though will run you in the $700-$1000 range.

Ahhh, yeah, I mean I don't mind investing a little rather than spend less to buy something that is going to constantly disappoint. But my current Netbook I bought for like $250, as was the trend back then. And my netbook is like two pounds, I think. It's teeny.
