I didn't enjoy the movie that much but I really liked the book series it was based on. The main reason I liked the book series was the relationship between the two main female characters. Their friendship was the heart and soul of the series and I loved that. I also liked the spin-off book series (Bloodlines) in which there were also really strong relationships between the female characters. I think Richelle Mead (the author of both series) is just really good at depicting relationships between female characters. At least when it comes to her YA stuff. I haven't read her non-YA work.
