I could see some of it being dangerous. Mostly stemming from people misdiagnosing themselves as "otherkin/fictionkin" based on hallucinations and weird feelings they may have. When instead they have mental/physical disorders that are dangerous to ignore.

For instance, symptoms of schizophrenia could easily be confused with this kind of BS. And the longer you go with undiagnosed schizophrenia, the worse the diagnosis.
