9 1/2 weeks. I think I was like 11 or 12.

I saw 9 1/2 Weeks on a first date when I was 18. The guy immediately asked me if I wanted to recreate the 'refrigerator' scene, which was creepy because 1) we were on our first date and 2) he still lived with his parents.

Rocky Horror Picture Show. I can't watch it today. It freaks me out. Particularly the creepy sex/rape scene where the doctor is pretending to be the wife/husband to have sex with the husband/wife.

Oh man I forgot about this one! First saw it at age 6.

I can't help but think that several of my kinks stem from that.

Possibly Ferris Bueller's Day Off, although I think I was too young to really get the drug/sex stuff. I didn't even remember most of it when I saw it again. I just remember we saw it in school, and our teacher turned it off when the dog was knocked out.

Starship Troopers, I think I was 9 or 10.

Oh and Who Framed Roger Rabbit which I saw when I was like 7, watching that again as a adult was an... experience.

1963 version of Tom Jones. I was about twelve. I was like D: and "This is a bad film." I don't think it's quite so bad now, but defo not a film to see at that age.

Fortress. I was maybe 11? I remember someone's stomach exploding...although weirdly it freaked my older brother out more. Probably paved the way for me enjoying very violent movies (which my brother still can't handle).

The Exorcist, though. That fucked me up, even though I was 16. I don't think I'll ever be old enough to watch that one again.

Junior. That movie gave me nightmares.

Uhhh...

'Carrie' at 4 (this one screwed with me a bit because I couldn't remember it. When I was 10, I saw it a friend's house for what I thought was the first time, had serious deja vu, and got freaked the fuck out -- and then my mom explained that I'd seen it before).

'Terminator' and 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' at 5.

'Predator' and 'Poltergeist' at 6.

'Terminator 2' and 'Alien' at 7.

'The Exorcist' at 8.

I'm sure there were more. My parents were horrifyingly lax and basically just let me watch whatever they were watching.

Granted, I turned out okay (...I think?), and many of those movies rank among my favorites, so I guess it really wasn't so bad.

Gremlins.

I think I was seven or so. To this day I have not rewatched it because that movie gave me scream-myself-awake nightmares for weeks afterwards.

The Hills Have Eyes 2.

Can't remember how old I was, but it couldn't have been more than 8 or 9.

I was actively trying NOT to watch it, but I seemed to look up from my toys/activity book at all the wrong scenes.

I have had issues with machetes, doors with hooks on, and wooden sheds ever since.

An R-rated romantic comedy I can't remember the name of. It had lines that I could tell were supposed to be funny because of the delivery of them, so after the movie I repeated them without knowing what they really meant. One was "Come and eat me up, boys!" Which is. Not the greatest thing for a five-year-old girl to go around saying.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I think I was six or seven and wanted to watch it because my cousin said I was too much of a baby to watch it. He . . . wasn't wrong, but I was determined to prove him wrong, so I watched the whole thing and ended up having nightmares for a few weeks afterwards.

One time my mom was going out for the evening and my dad rented Cliffhanger for us all to watch. I, the oldest (3 younger sibs) was 11 at the time and my youngest brother was 6. We all LOVED the movie and none of us ever had the slightest issues with anything that happened therein, but my mom was very dismayed when she got home and wouldn't let us watch the other R rated movie dad had rented for us. We were all mad about that because the other movie had Chuck Norris in it and we were all very into Walker Texas Ranger at the time.

Saving Private Ryan, I was like 8/9

A bunch of slasher flicks when I was like 10/11 because my friends thought it was cool to watch horror movies. I hated them but like if I didn't watch it with them they'd leave me in the other room alone during sleepovers and I hated that more.

Some things in a lot of movies which otherwise I was not "too young" for went totally over my head, or I simply didn't comprehend some line of dialogue.

Like Star Wars - there are various lines through the original trilogy I didn't comprehend exactly what was being said and it seemed gibbering to me until I was in my late teens/early adulthood.

Quite a bit of Ghostbusters totally went over my head when I was a kid too.

Then there's something like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, which according to Mum I was trying to crawl under the seat the first time we saw it (in the cinema), though to this day I still cannot watch the heart-ripping scene.

Felidae. It's an animated movie about cats, on the surface, so the people who made the programming decisions for some of the TV channels in my country apparently took a short look, thought "kitties, animated, must be a kids movie" and placed it squarely in the afternoon kiddie program several times.

It's basically a noir type crime story/thriller with cats getting murdered and being experimented on by an evil crazy scientist tomcat and another tomcat playing detective to solve the case. And the murders and fight scenes are plenty gorey complete with intestines flying around and all.

I'm not sure how old I was when I first watched it but not old enough haha.
