Do you draw at all? I got a fountain pen to do sketches, it works really nicely for that.

Depends on your drawing needs, I imagine.

I have a personal art style that requires a fine tip on a gel or felt-tip pen, and fountain pens are never that fine. I still like fountain pens, but more for writing (which I don't do that often anyway) than for art reasons.

You could get a needlepoint custom grind... If you felt it was worth it (bet it's not). I've always felt most sketch paper is too toothy to feel pleasant with the nib, and too absorbent for the ink.

Yeah, since in my case it's just idle drawing in times when I have time to waste and can't be on the computer, I don't bother with expensive pens.

Different strokes for different folks. I hate felt pens I feel like they bleed all over the place and I can't get a sharp line.
