I don't really get your beef with this particular pic bacause they kinda look like tanned asians to me. And while I'm not asian myself I've lived in asia and work in a mainly asian environment, so it's not just white people not knowing the difference. they may look a bit ambiguous, but so do the original characters, only these could be rather interpreted as blackish or indian than as white, as is often the case with regular anime design
