I'm okay with option 3.

I also think having a minimum word count would be good for the future. There is some debate as to what counts as "novel length," but my understanding is that 80,000+ is what publishers tend to accept.

Do you think most published novels, like the ones we've read before (I think you've been in BC discussions before? it's been a while, sorry) are 80k+? I received a suggestion for 10k above

For the second book we read, would you go with Wild Swans or a runoff vote, based on the info?

I have been, and yes, I think they are of that length (I would bet that 'Southern Fire' cleared the 100k mark). 10k is very short; I personally have written single chapters that are 6k.

I would be fine with 'Wild Swans.'
