This isn't fair. That character could have been of any religion and been terrifying. It wasn't the religion, it was the character's insane devotion to it that was terrifying, and her wholehearted absolute conviction in herself over it.

Faith has a place in horror, positive and negative. She was just an example of that other end of the spectrum.
