So, wait, can we get an official ruling on whether Bruce Campbell is conventionally attractive or not? That's my main question here

*stares hard at Bruce Campbell*

Yea-no...yes? Yes. I think so?

(Anonymous) 2016-04-18 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Aside from his massive jawline, yes. He appears pretty symmetrical.

He's also not 25, but you can't win them all...

(Anonymous) 2016-04-18 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
He is. Oh. He is.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-18 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
He spent many years playing hunky leading men... isn't that generally diagnostic?
sabotabby: (doom doom doom)

...maybe?

I don't find him hot but I'm not the best judge. I know a bunch of straight dudes for whom he's the big exception, though.

He's the guy from the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness films that Duke Nukem stole all its lines from as well as Bubba Hotep.

all I see is what would result if Ryan Reynolds and Mitt Romney somehow fused together

This is accurate.

I'd say he's conventionally attractive in a slightly older standard. He's got one hell of a strong jawline.

If your definition of 'conventionally attractive' doesn't automatically exclude older men, most certainly.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-19 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
he's conventionally attractive imo
numb3r_5ev3n: Concentric red and cyan hexagon pattern. (Default)

Hell to the yes.

He was gorgeous when he was young ("Army of Darkness" days and such). Very classic movie type of attractive - strong jaw, dark eyes, broad shoulders, etc etc.

Now? He's definitely more attractive than your average older guy.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-19 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
I vote yes.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-19 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Not in that photo. Why is he so orange?

(Anonymous) 2016-04-18 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm really not looking forward to finding out what fucked up, socially regressive or just plain monstrous thing he has done / said / believes. If you think we can have one old straight white male who isn't human trash, then you're more optimistic than I am.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-18 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
He is a right winger.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-18 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
And? Your point is?

I'm probably a pervert but I love the graphic word use in this secret.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-18 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Why do you cringe at young, pretty, actors and actresses? Are they bad at acting, or do you just think it's more shallow to be attracted to young, pretty people than older men/women?

I'm always a little surprised people feel so judged and alone liking older guys, because I sometimes feel like I'm in the minority being a non-teenage girl who prefers people close to my own age.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-18 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm getting a definite "I am so much wiser and more mature in my tastes than my foolish friends" vibe here.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-19 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
OP

For you and my other naysayer who replied to you, it's because they've actively teased me before. I thought that came across in the secret, but I guess not. I've known my core group of friends since I was in middle school, and they're all really good people but sometimes the teasing and "joking" and stereotyping of my sexuality goes a bit too far. I've actually had to have a talk with them before about it, and they're generally better now, but some things still slip through. I'm the only gay guy in my friend group, so I've been tokenized a bit.

The reason I cringe is because I'm just really not attracted to younger guys. It feels like every other week they're talking about a new guy who I can't tell apart from the other guy or the one before that one. They're perfectly entitled to like what they like, but I'm kind of jaded and burned between my honest non-attraction to the people they think are hot, and their past-and-sometimes-present "joking" about my choice in men. I don't think I'm "cooler and more mature" than my friends, if anything I'm definitely the jokester and can be wildly inappropriate sometimes when the time isn't right, but I can't help but be a little butthurt, and not in the fun way.
