Why do you cringe at young, pretty, actors and actresses? Are they bad at acting, or do you just think it's more shallow to be attracted to young, pretty people than older men/women?

I'm always a little surprised people feel so judged and alone liking older guys, because I sometimes feel like I'm in the minority being a non-teenage girl who prefers people close to my own age.

Yeah, I'm getting a definite "I am so much wiser and more mature in my tastes than my foolish friends" vibe here.

OP

For you and my other naysayer who replied to you, it's because they've actively teased me before. I thought that came across in the secret, but I guess not. I've known my core group of friends since I was in middle school, and they're all really good people but sometimes the teasing and "joking" and stereotyping of my sexuality goes a bit too far. I've actually had to have a talk with them before about it, and they're generally better now, but some things still slip through. I'm the only gay guy in my friend group, so I've been tokenized a bit.

The reason I cringe is because I'm just really not attracted to younger guys. It feels like every other week they're talking about a new guy who I can't tell apart from the other guy or the one before that one. They're perfectly entitled to like what they like, but I'm kind of jaded and burned between my honest non-attraction to the people they think are hot, and their past-and-sometimes-present "joking" about my choice in men. I don't think I'm "cooler and more mature" than my friends, if anything I'm definitely the jokester and can be wildly inappropriate sometimes when the time isn't right, but I can't help but be a little butthurt, and not in the fun way.
