I'm neither, but I wouldn't mind a redemption for Snape or Regina, I just happen to think that neither character has redeemed themself in canon, and obviously Snape won't get the chance.

Ugh, this drives me crazy. I know that some characters are unlikely to ever be redeemed, especially if they don't want to be, but I'd hate to live in a world where there isn't the possibility of redemption for everyone, no matter how bad. If that's the case, then there's no reason they would ever reform and they'd keep doing terrible shit.

Counterpoint: the redemption of a character doesn't mean the evil shit they did vanishes. This isn't Catholicism. You can't wipe sin away as though it never existed.

Unless, I mean, it's a particularly Catholic work or something.

Even in Catholicism, the sin is only erased on a spiritual level. You'll still have to deal with any real-world fallout.
