I think the point ayrt was trying to make is that TFA wasn't particularly subtle or elegant about it and that most media has slightly more complex goals than "give audience the feels".


But you probably knew that and just wanted to be pedantic.

Nah. Some media has more complex goals, but most of it really is just looking to make people feel shit, because that makes them more likely to stick with it and buy into future installments/shell out for merchandise.

DA Yeah. It didn't work for me. Which isn't to say I always prefer subtle and elegant (I'm a huge action fan) but hamhanded, man, TFA was just hamhanded as fuck. I felt like I was being tongue-kissed by a rhino.
