My take on Twilight is that Smeyer pitched it to the wrong audience. It's not for teenage girls--I would never let a teenage daughter of mine read it. But for women who want to remember what it was like to be 16 it is perfect. I've always enjoyed the Twilight books (while still acknowledging their weirdness and issues) and I am a feminist and I feel zero conflict about that.
