Yeah I pretty much feel the same way as you.

I do get annoyed at some new adaptations of works I love from time to time... but it doesn't diminish the original work (which in Ghostbuster's case I don't think aged well; I like the cartoon more, but that's another matter).

But several of my fandoms are 80 or 50 years older than me, so I know what you're saying there.
