I just have never understood why Ghostbusters is such a big damn deal. Don't get me wrong, it's an okay film, but I think most people have their nostalgia goggles on way too tight. People act like it's two hours of Bill Murray being slowly castrated on camera, and not just 'an updated take on an okay movie from the 80s.'

But uh, I actually am one of the four people on the planet who... didn't like Ghostbusters. Which is apparently up there with 'Crucifying Jesus Christ' on the 'bad things to admit to' list, judging by my facebook feed.

I agree with this. The original isn't that good. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. And while I'm not overly excited about the new one, I will go see it. And personally I think it is better for not having Bill Murray in it. I really don't like him or his acting style. He always annoys me in movies.

I am just not familiar enough with Bill Murray to make a judgement on him. I KNOW I've seen things with him in it, in starring roles, but I'm completely blanking right now. Meanwhile, I'm pretty in love with Melissa McCarthy, and thrilled to see 'brilliant women being scientists and doing actiony comedy things' But I'm not expecting to be wowed because of my opinion on the original Ghostbusters.

I had never seen it and tried to watch it for the first time last year. I didn't finish it. I didn't hate it, but I didn't think it had aged well. Bill Murray's character was really unlikable- is he seriously the favourite character? I usually like Bill Murray!

It REALLY hasn't aged well, especially with what we were capable of doing with CGI even just a few years later. It's a silly little comedy, and there's nothing wrong with that, but it's very much a product of its time.

I think it's partly that now, people are a bit more sensitive to creepy male behaviors and Murray's character exhibited quite a few of them.

I had fond memories of the movie but I rewatched it not that long ago and... wow, that movie sort of stunk and Venkman was pretty damn creepy. No nostalgia goggles for me.

I saw it for the first time as an adult (I was born in the 90s so I missed its heyday, and then just managed to avoid it until my parents heard I hadn't seen it and were HORRIFIED), so I didn't have any of the childhood wonder and nostalgia surrounding it.

Count me number 5! Well, indifferent. I watched it. Cant say I particularly enjoyed it. I'm slightly curious on the new one as I found the trailer funny so I'll hopefully like the new one.

I liked bits of the trailer, and other bits had me rolling my eyes, so we'll have to see. At the very least, I enjoy some of the actors. Which is about where I was with the original, I really like Rick Moranis.

I never cared for the movie, but the Ghostbusters cartoon was adorable.
