Little Headcanons for certain characters/scenes (inspired by secret #6)

What are some of yours?

There's an episode of Criminal Minds where Garcia wants to see Reid's "scary side" and he busts out a bad Clint Eastwood impression. My headcanon is Reid actually has a much darker, legit scary side but he didn't want Garcia to see it.

I like this theory. I think the moments when Reid is legit angry about something lend credence to your theory about his darker side, too-he can get rather cutting with the remarks and cold shoulders when he's genuinely pissed off.

Steve Rogers doesn't particularly care for animals. He doesn't hate them and he would help one in trouble. But he doesn't feel the need to own a pet or hang out with animals.

I think he would give it attention and play with it if it came to him. But I don't think he would seek out its companionship.

The West Wing: Josh and Mallory were at summer camp together every year, where they grew from being rivals to friends, maybe romantic for a bit as teens, but back to friends in the end.

I headcanon that Glorfindel never lived down the "got himself killed because his hair was so long and fabulous that a balrog pulled him off a cliff by it" thing. Everyone made fifty million wisecracks about it at him when he came back to middle-earth and never stopped.

This reminds me of a tumblr post I once saw that was basically something like "imagine that in the elves army barracks there are educational safety posters warning "Glorfindel didn’t tie his hair back before the battle. Now he doesn’t have to."

MCU Natasha and Bruce became friends (and....you know....more? if you want...) because Nat is Bruce's weed guy.

Saiyans from Dragon Ball Z had a HUGE Extreme Sports culture. Like, they weren't big on literature or the arts, but they were absolutely obsessed with sports and sports legends and stories about sports legends and had a load of sporting events all the time. (And of course, for them, Extreme Sports means "expectation that some of you will get killed/maimed and if you do it's because you deserved it, you weak pathetic scum.")

Leo from The West Wing was actually kind of a tough-guy James Dean type when he was a teenager back in the late '50s.

Yessssss I love this. You know he rocked a slightly oversized leather jacket and the James Dean hair. Meanwhile young Jed Barlet's got himself a BRAND NEW SWEATER VEST

I have a rec of exactly this!

The reason no one ever thinks Clark Kent is Superman is because Clark Kent is thought of as "that guy who looks like Superman" and may have actually done a Superman lookalike contest once and while he looked amusingly perfect without the glasses, his mannerisms and posture were ALL WRONG, so wrong it was kind of hilarious, so he is DOUBLY obviously-not-Superman.

He got placed second last in the contest, he would have been last but his looks was his only saving grace.

There's an episode of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries where Phryne's latest gentleman caller, a Chinese man, takes her to his family's restaurant. His grandmother comes to the table and starts scolding him in Cantonese (I think; it's been a while since I saw the episode) for carrying on with a floozy, or words to that effect. Phryne lets her shout for a while, then says "Thank you; the food looks delicious" in Cantonese, which naturally makes her storm off. I headcanon that that is actually one of very few Cantonese phrases Phryne actually knows; she has no idea what the grandmother said but could pick up on the general intent of it and just wanted to rattle her.

After the events of Yu-Gi-Oh, Yugi grew up to become kind of Indiana Jones-y, exploring and looking for cursed archeological sites and stuff.

I love the idea that Celebrimbor was actually a bit suspicious of Annatar. But he was so concerned with not being like his grandfather, who was suspicious of everyone, that he ignored his own suspicions.

Oh :( I'd imagine he'd also tell this to Galadriel when he went to her with the Three and had to admit she was right about there being something shady about Annatar all along. And she was like, torn between "I told you so" and "wow yeah I know how you feel" and "oh god I hope *I'm* not anything like Feanor."
