Same. For example - was excited about the hobbit movies, did not like the hobbit movies at all, thought they were shit... but I still afore the books and animated film. A remake is a remake, an adaption is an adaption.

Don't get me started on people who call a new adaption a remake and compare it to the first adaption rather than to the original book. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is not a remake of Willie Wonka. And maybe it is a worse movie (I'd argue about that, but I'd at least understand that point), but personally I think it is a better adaption (minus the added bits about Wonka's father). And whatever it is, it is not a remake of the first movie.

That's my definitive version of the story to be honest. I watched it again earlier this year and it still held up.

That's fine. I have no problems with other people liking it better. I wish people would just stop calling the newer one a remake of that when it isn't. It is a different adaption of the same book.
