That's really close to my dream too: a cat, decent apartment, and friends I feel at ease with, no tomato plants though.

I just like the idea of growing something. I like tomatoes. I also thought about hot peppers or something like that.

Yeah, I've always been jealous of people who have the dedication for gardening and it's always extra cool when people grow their own ingredients. I tried with a cactus once since they apparently thrive on neglect and all, but it didn't work out.
