I HAVE SO MANY - Re: What's the worst "well-written" show, movie, or book?

Anything by Wes Anderson. God that motherfucker is so overrated. You are not funny and you're not charming and you're not interesting. Go. Away.
Other worst "well-written" movies: Black Swan, Shawshank Redemption, Imitation Game, AI, Anchorman
Books: Pride and Prejudice(seriously fuck that book), The Little Prince, Watchmen(the graphic novel)
TV: The Walking Dead, The Wire, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Downton Abbey

Oh boy, agreed about Watchmen. It was damn near unreadable with all the walls of text in every panel and the endless philosophical waffling on.

I'm not sure any of the movies you listed are actually acclaimed for their writing specifically, though. They're solid enough, but they're more "message" movies than "screenplay" movies, if you get my drift.

I like most Wes Anderson movies but I HATED HATED HATED his version of Fantastic Mr. Fox, a book I loved as a kid.

Oh wow. I like Anderson, I loved Roald Dahl as a kid (I recently cried during a BFG trailer) and that's one of my all time favourite movies. I guess it's not for everyone, but I'm surprised someone who likes Wes Anderson hated it. Can I ask why?

AYRT
All the stuff that wasn't in the book struck me as really unfunny and stupid, especially the "cuss" running gag.

Seinfeld is the most overrated thing in the universe.
