Mycroft/Lestrade. I just don't see how those two got paired. I guess it is a "pair the spares" sort of thing but I didn't think Mycroft was hot enough to be in the running.

Right? It's been ages since I was in the Sherlock fandom even peripherally but I never got it. Did they ever even interact on screen?

It really surprses me how popular it has been and continues to be. Usually big ships are built on hotness or chemistry (or both). They haven't interacted enough to have chemistry and nothing against Mark Gatiss, but, you know, you said it.
