The art style that bugs me is when people draw the nose different colors from the rest of the body. The ONLY series that works in is Animal Crossing since all the humans have red noses. Everywhere else it looks like they're either drunk or severely frostbitten.

Also the inexplicably red shoulders/elbows/knees/fingers that makes a character look sunburnt. People call it a "blush" I guess, but that kinda blush shows up only when taking a hot shower and even then it's barely there.

Sign of a mediocre artist when you lazily copy mannerisms from other artists without applying any critical thought to it.

Ughhhhh, I remember there was one fanartist in the Harry Potter days (like 2004 or something) that drew a lot of Harry/Draco and all of his/her art was like... red noses, red knees, red elbows. I hated it.

This is really popular in anime though, particularly moe anime. An artist using it in fanart might just be them simulating canon.

Don't look at Homestuck fan art featuring trolls, then. Happens really often there.

Haha, I thought if this when I read AYRT. I love a lot of HS fanart but the blood-colored nose thing used to really get me. I think it's less noticeable now, though.

yeah like, generally SOME pale people get pinker at the ends of their noses but unless they're a severe alcoholic it generally doesn't look like rudolph

... also the bizarre addition a pink/red nose to an Asian anime character when their skin color is not pink-ish like white people just seems stupid.

Rosacea! I have a bright red nose and cheeks just like those pictures and I have no idea why anyone would want to draw a character that way.

Ok, what about the fad for drawing fan art with characters who now suddenly have vitiligo?
