Freckles on characters that aren't supposed to have them. Not drawing them on characters that do have them bugs me too, but it's not as common a trend.

me too. I'm actually glad to see they're popular. I've always found them cute.

I love freckles, but I think that's why it bugs me. Not everyone gets to have them, you can't just put them on anyone to make them cuter... that's cheating.

like every redheaded asian anime character that's given freckles b/c white people can't separate redheads and freckles

I think freckles are fair game on any 2D animated character. It's not like you can get into fine details on an animation.
