Seconded HARD. The main additiona was the Constanza and Salieri scene, right? Which, okay, I guess it was in the play, but ... what did it add but tits? We already knew she'd do anything for her husband; we already knew that Salieri wasn't going to help him at all (and in fact was planning on destroying him to spite God).
