There's two reasons I prefer the theatrical cut of Alien over the Director's cut. One: The pacing is better (though I don't mind the slower burn) and two, it doesn't have that stupid turning-into-eggs scene which I can't stand.

There's a scene in the director's cut where Ripley winds up in a secluded part of the ship where she finds Brett and Dallas glued to the wall, slowly turning into eggs. Brett is already nearly an egg, and Dallas calls for Ripley to kill them both.

I hate it.

Wow. I could have sworn I've seen the director's cut, but i've never seen that scene..... Weird.

Maybe i haven't. Alien is in my top-five, all-time favorite movie, so i'd be willing to forgive almost anything, heh. But maybe not that.
