The Big Bang Theory. I just think it's unfunny and... kind of offensive?
I also hate that every one of my friends love (loved?) it to bits and now call ME a "nerd" as an endearing term because I like science, TV shows and comics. Fuck you! I was the uncool kid in my class during all my childhood and high school and then suddenly this fucking show makes the things I hated most of myself and tried to hide for as long as I remember the coolest ever and I'M SO BITTER

But I guess it's a good thing for kids growing up these days, looking at the hobbies being more accepted. I'm actually happy for them if that's the case.

(Bonus: I absolutely loathe Murakami Haruki's Norwegian Wood, but that's a rant I already made here not so long ago)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I have always been a geek, so people in RL think I should love the show, but I despise it. Every episode I have been forced to watch has been more making mean-spirited fun of geeks than anything else. And they weren't funny at all to me. Like there was one that I'm trying to block out of my mind about girls in a comic book store, and I'm a girl who loves comics and goes to a comic book store and I just couldn't take it. UGH.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one.

In these parts, you'd me in the minority if you admitted that you *did* like TBBT.

Really? Good to know, I guess. I don't tend to pay attention to TBBT things because the show bothers me. But my family and some friends like it. Even when I went to see my mother in the hospital I couldn't get away from it, as her roommate had it on. It just feels like it is everywhere because so many people like it.

Yes, I still think I am too. That's why nobody but my friends knows what I'm really into. Other people just assume I love classic books, going to concerts and hanging out with my friends. You'd never guess :)

BBT is a show about how non-geeks think geeks act and it's painfully apparent

Eh, I think they're just hanging out with a different level of geek than you. I thought I was the biggest geek I knew until my bf pulled out schematics of the Enterprise to win an argument, and the hardcore Rennies in college make him look like a boy band member.

This. TBBT is wretched and truly, truly toxic. There are some cute moments in the early seasons, and most of all I think it had a lot of wasted potential, but you couldn't pay me to watch it now.

I absolutely agree. It's the whole "laugh WITH" somebody vs "laugh AT" them.

I feel like Big Bang Theory is laughing AT us.
