Re: eating healthier

I am definitely NOT a healthy person, so every teensy difference I can make in my diet I am pretty proud of.

- drink more water: this is an obvious one, except I rarely had the willpower to replace my drink of choice by plain boring water. So instead when I'm at home, I try to get my usual drink (soda, ashamed to say) and then get a waaaaaaaaay bigger glass full of water at the same time. Then I let my laziness do the job for me. I mean, I could get up and refill my (almost) empty soda, or I could simply drink this huge glass of water that's right there.

- when getting a snack, stop and ask yourself this question: am I snacking because I'm actually hungry or because I'm bored and need a distraction? If you're actually hungry, eat something filling like a sandwich or something, instead of a cookie. If you're bored, go find another distraction. I'm amazed how often I'm looking through my fridge when I'm not really hungry, I just felt like a walk around the house and that's where I wound up.
