I was once witness to what appeared to be a very reluctant "Yes" to a surprise public proposal and it was incredibly embarassing. I'm sure she took it back once they were in private and I'm sure I wasn't the only one wishing a tornado siren would go off or Godzilla would attack or ANYTHING would happen that would interrupt the torture of her sitting there silently thinking "Oh fuck" while he smiled optimistically and the band leader who had been roped into participating started to sweat. If I ever see something like that again I will fake a medical emergency.
