Re: Crazy coworker update
(Anonymous) 2016-04-29 11:22 am (UTC)(link)If he brings it up again, suggest you think it would be more appropriate that he ask a supervisor if the rental referree is only to verify his employment. If he brings up the message, say "I'm sorry you feel that way but I am unable to help you with your application."
Otherwise, limit your contact with him as much as possible but, like he says in his message, remain professional. Don't let him push you into anything.
That message is way too deliberately emotionally manipulative for my liking. People like that often look for someone they can 'push' into saying yes to them - your repeated statements that he's asked you to do many workplace inappropriate things for him backs that up. If you say no once and for all and stick to your guns he should lose interest. But if you react, he'll latch onto that like positive reinforcement.
Finally, I haven't read all your posts about this guy, but make sure you flag him to your supervisor/ HR as a nuisance to you specifically. It's good to have a record.
Re: Crazy coworker update
(Anonymous) 2016-04-29 12:09 pm (UTC)(link)I have been thinking of having a meeting with my manager to specifically ask for help with this guy. We've both lightly mentioned it, but nothing concrete yet.
I have been keeping records! Someone suggested that back when he started going all weird and I needed FS's help with writing a record of what happened (I was witness to him yelling/blowing up at his manager) and I've kept with it. Mostly just saving emails and chat histories to a folder.
But the in person stuff is harder because it is in person, he's all polite about it, your team is around you so don't want to look uncaring but also, can't do anything!
Thanks for confirming, i was thinking it can't be right he'd get homeless for this. I gave many suggestions on alternatives too...
