I still hurt every time I think of Donna. But sometimes I watch her final episodes because I enjoy the angst. I rewatched them recently with my sister and she cried about four times.

I hate what happened to Donna so much. Way to remove her agency, show. And then she's just back to the life she never really enjoyed in the first place, thinking she's not good enough.

I like to think that the guy she married (for real) is great and makes her happy and the lottery money makes them at least comfortable and keeps them from living on the edge, and between the two she feels like she actually is good enough to have nice things happen to her sometimes.

The agency thing doesn't matter to me--people lose agency for all kinds of reasons and it doesn't make them weak people. It's the fact that she was left to her low self-esteem that's heartbreaking.

No, I'm not saying it makes her weak, I'm complaining about the Doctor taking her choice away from her and forcing her to do what he thought was best, not what she actually wanted. She should have been allowed the dignity of her own choice, regardless of whether he liked it or not.

What happened to Donna was heartbreaking. There aren't many characters who I feel got treated so unfairly.

I knew it was coming because I got into Doctor Who way late and read all the episode summaries, but it still broke my heart to see Donna's exit. I still enjoy watching her episodes, but I only watch her final one when I need to have a good cry.
