I know exactly what you mean! There's a lot of times when I see my niece and nephew watching kids' shows and I see something happen and I think "oh man, I remember how cool it was to me when X similar thing happened in Y similar show I saw when I was little."

Incidentally, what happened to lead to that screencap in Pokemon? Now I'm curious.

There's been this ongoing subplot about Ash developing this weird psychic bond with one of his pokemon, his Greninja, where he can feel what his Greninja feels during pokemon battles and stuff - like the pain from attacks, or exhaustion, etc, but it affects him worse than Greninja because he's only human. In the latest episode, he kind of...had a kind of a heart-attack-thing during a battle because his nervous system was synced up to Greninja's and a human body couldn't handle that, and he passed out. It was really dramatic and cool and totally the sort of thing that would have been unbelievably shocking and exciting to me if something had happened way back in season 1 or 2 when I was watching Pokemon as a kid :D
