I liked Bret McKenzie as an elf a lot. More so as FIGWIT than Lindir, but he made a great elf.

Ugh, the fact that they made him "Lindir" fucked up the character for me. If he'd been anyone else, he would be perfect.

That was the only male elf I thought was as good as the females. The rest were too masculine looking.

I think Orlando Bloom as Legolas looked fine, although I wasn't a fan of his movie characterization. But yeah, this.

This makes me think, not for the first time, that maybe all the elves should have been cast with actors of east asian descent, tbh. I don't give a shit about all the race-bending stuff in fandom, but I really think it would have worked really well on multiple levels - fitting physical appearance, very clear distinction from the european-ish humans, AND some actual non-evil nonwhite characters as a bonus.
