I agree. When I watched LOTR, not even Galadriel or Arwen were right for what I had in my head. I think Galadriel looks better in the Hobbit and I've grown to like Arwen, but they're still not at all what I think of for those characters.

If Thranduil's eyebrows weren't so weird and they managed to tame the 5 o'clock shadow, he would be a pretty decent example of an elf. But, yeah, his characterization was the absolute worst in the hobbit movies.

I HATED Elrond's characterization and look. That was one of the biggest character fuck-ups in the whole series for me. I love Huge Weaving in other things but he is NOT Elrond, and I hate how much the "receding hairline" became a thing in fics after the movies came out.

I actually didn't think Legolas looked too bad (except being short and the eyebrows again) and he was kind of a non-entity in the LOTR movies, but wow did they shit on his character in the Hobbit movies. They made me actively dislike a "meh" character.

I like Celeborn. The look threw me a bit but the actor did a fairly good job with so little to work with. Would've been nice if they found someone who looked like he could go toe-to-toe with Galadriel and why she would pick him to be her husband.
