I've never been to an Ikea. It is as wondrous and crazy as the internet says? Any particular movies?

Ikea is amazing. I love going and getting lost and seriously you always find something you didn't need.

We're going because they're doing some special with the restaurant reopening and I'm hoping for free stuff.

The Peanuts movie for sure, beyond that, I don't know.

It's really a fun experience. I'm looking forward to it tomorrow. I'm hoping to get some ideas on decorating and what other furniture I might need.

I've been to an IKEA in the US twice. Treat the place like it's a big fat yard sale, and you'll do just fine. That said, don't go for the cheapest possible stuff there, because some of it is junk. If you find a floor sample of something, that will give you a great idea of how dirty or worn out it could get after being handled by umpteen hundred people.

Good bargains there are the cast iron, decorative lighting fixtures, the furniture you paint yourself, the garage shelving ( some of which is nice enough for heavy duty shelves elsewhere ), lockable metal cabinets and medicine cabinets, mattresses of all kinds ( including a round model ), bedding ( provided you avoid the dirt cheap stuff )...

Crap to avoid would be flimsy hangers, furniture with cheap laminate finish or that fails the wiggle test ( wiggle it to see if it's solid ), anything made out of cloth that pills or frays, and anything from the food department that has weird ingredients in it ( please read the labels ).
