Doesn't cocky mean arrogant? That seems to be a pretty clearly bad trait. Self confidence is great, but not to the point of arrogance.

I don't know what to tell you. Bad traits, things that hint at wickedness or transgression, can carry a heavy sexual appeal. It doesn't mean we all want to run out and date or marry arrogant men. But there's a reason most fantasy alpha male types are arrogant.

I think, with regards to fictional characters and celebrities, overblown confidence can be sexy in a way that wouldn't work at all irl.
