Well if the only thing people with BPD are told is that they're toxic abusive fucks who need to stay away from people, how are they going to be anything else?

Maybe they need awareness raised so the can learn and heal to be better than that.

Maybe if you tried thinking with your brain rather than your emotions you'd get that. Sorry I don't have much sympathy for someone who thinks that everyone with a condition should suffer because of their experiences.

lol nope. In my experience people with unmanaged BPD are well aware of what it is they're doing. They just don't give a shit.

I think OP made a very clear distinction between people who manage their BPD (therapy/medications) and those who don't.

Because of the part of their post where they're violently rejecting the idea of BPD Awareness which is something that does speak for people who are in treatment and people who aren't. Given that context, they needed to be much, much clearer about it. Instead of making most of their post vitriol about how harmless (unmedicated) BPD people are, with the (unmedicated) very much in parenthesis.

HOW MUCH CLEARER COULD THEY BE? THEY SPECIFIED UNAMANAGED BPD TWICE.

They should not have made a blanket rejection of BPD awareness, or they should have specifically made it clear that their rejection applied only to unmanaged people.

All that they were specifying was that they thought that only managed BPD people were fuckpiles. They did not specify that managed BPD people should be treated with dignity and compassion. They just exempted them from the vitriol.

When you have a post that says "Fuck BPD awareness" and then consists SOLELY of yelling at unmanaged BPD people, you have not done enough to make the point clear.

Or you could pass 5th grade reading comprehension and extract your head from your ass.

I can comprehend what they meant. They still weren't clear enough in making their point. They should have been clearer.

If you could comprehend what they meant, their point was clear enough. Unless you're looking for something to get offended by, like so many on the internet these days.

I can make a reasonable guess as to what they were going for. But I can also reasonably judge their words according to the likely effect of a post that is basically just screaming about how awful BPD people are.

Being awful is literally in the diagnostic criteria for BPD.

If you were talking about the person who said they thought they might have BPD, that was me. I don't think anyone is obligated to hang around or put up with people who hurt them, though, BPD (or any other personality disorder) diagnosis or not. Especially because one of the hallmarks of being a BPD sufferer is making the people you care about suffer.
