Fine, and if they can't make the child believe they love them then they should give them up for adoption.

I just don't believe in judging people for things they can't help. You literally can't help what you feel. Emotions are entirely irrational and involuntary.

I do judge people by their actions, though, and if they aren't acting like they love the child and the child can tell, at that point they are a bad parent.

Emotions are involuntary but I believe if you are incapable of loving your child you should spare them what they will go through dealing with that. I don't think you can not love your child at all and still act like a good parent and give the child what they deserve.

If we are talking about young children I agree with you. But what if you have raised the child and loved the child and then when they are a teenager the feelings go away (maybe because of things they did, maybe not). What do you do then? Giving up a teenager for adoption after raising them seems actually a lot crueler to me.

Emotions are involuntary, sure, but we are pretty wired to love our kids. If you can't do that, you are a failure of a human being. Not only will you NEVER be a good parent if you don't genuinely love your kids, you kind of suck as a person in general.

This so much. Personally I don't want kids. I don't like kids. And I'm not going to have them because I know I'd be a bad parent. And if I did for some reason have one I'd give them up for adoption.

But no, people aren't bad people for not feeling emotions. Not everyone is wired to love children or their children. And that is okay. That doesn't make them bad people. They are only bad people if they keep the child and don't care for that child and provide for the child's needs through their actions.

Men and women both who choose to have and keep their kids should love them. If they don't, they can go fuck themselves.

No, actually, not everyone is wired to love their kids. If they don't, I do think for the most part they should give them up for adoption (although, sometimes feelings change, my mother didn't love me when I was a baby because she doesn't like babies, but she did love me once I was old enough to talk and interact).

But honestly the idea of judging people for not having (or having) emotions annoys me. No one chooses their emotions, and no one is a failure for something they cannot help.
