Agreed, it was terribly underwhelming.

Also I'm not sure if I just wasn't looking in the right places, but I didn't see that much devastation over his death on the internet either? Maybe I missed it.

I think the muted reaction was a combination of the spoiler being absolutely everywhere on the internet almost immediately, and SW fans knowing that Harrison Ford wanted Han killed off in Return of the Jedi (so his death wasn't out of the realm of possibility).
