Civil War

(Anonymous) 2016-05-01 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I find it a little odd that there was no fanservice for the ladies who like ladies.

Not trying to be all political, just lamenting the loss of the sexy women stuff.

I supposed it's right and it's good that things are going in that direction... Just sad I guess.

Well back in Charles the First of England's day there just wasn't an openness towards lesbians. That is probably why you don't see much lady-for-lady action in the Civil War.

I've seen one F/F novel that was set in the American Civil War, if you're interested.

well I loved the fact that there was nothing in that movie I could see a guy fapping to. even better when we get steve's arms and all of t'challa.

MRAs: Not getting that women don't want to see blow up dolls pretending to be badass characters.

Lesbians: Apparently do not have sexual urges.

Also, sexy actresses=blow up dolls.

Which civil war?

Re: Civil War

Well, the loud minority have deemed sexy women to be BAD. So...sucks to be anyone who likes sexy ladies.

Assuming you're talking about CA:CW, I remind you to look at what Marvel was like before Disney bought it. It was horrible for women. This are much better these days Disney understands what women need in their media.

Are you really telling me you don't think Scarlett Johannson, Marisa Tomei, and Elizabeth Olsen don't count as sexy just because no-one is shoving a camera up their ass?

SA

Oh, and stop pretending to be a gay woman. You're straight man, and you can fuck off.

Fanservice is what is being discussed. You know how in Marvel movies they provide fanservice to people attracted to men? Maybe people attracted to women, which lo and behold includes lesbians, might want some too.

Re: Civil War

(Anonymous) 2016-05-01 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
The go see a different fucking movie.

Disney is not your friend of you want less badass / more sexualized women. They have been quite open about this.

It's not like every other movie in the world has also decided to start treating women with respect. You can get your cheap sexploitation literally anywhere else.

Poor lesbians and bi women, no one cares about them.

Marvel can't win. If they provide "fanservice" for people attracted to women, then they're committing the cardinal sin of being exploitative and pandering to Male Gaze. If they don't, then they're being inconsistent hypocrites.

Re: Civil War

(Anonymous) 2016-05-01 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a fringe group of MRA nothings who have a problem with the lack of fanservice for guys. Everyone else is delighted with how they're doing.

But, they are? ScarJo, Olsen or Vancamp might not be your type, but are you genuinely arguing they're not considered pretty women?

No, they're not snogging (but none of the men are, either).

I don't know who it would have been though? The're clearly setting up Sharon with Steve and Wanda with Vision (which are, like or not, canonical romances). After the Bruce debacle I'm glad Nat didn't get a romantic interest.

To be honest the went all no homo" with Steve and Bucky, too - maybe they are actually aware of the fandom, who knows.

As sexy as I find Scarlett, you know what, you have nearly every other movie ever for this. It is okay for one-sided pandering to go the other way for once. It is in no way going to come close to equaling things out, so I don't see the problem.
