At least ask first if they mind seeing it before springing it on them. Some creators don't mind even the kinky stuff, and some hate it like fire burns. And there are folks at every point in between. Do a little digging, check out official fan site FAQs and try and see what your Original Content Creator's policy is on fanworks.

Yeah, that'd at least help. Then again, even when actors express being uncomfortable with that kind of stuff, some fans just don't care. :(

I wanna know why "being a nerd" is considered carte blanche to indulge every antisocial whim that enters peoples head's, and to blatantly ignore boundaries. If someone pulls them up on that, then they just go "but I'm a nerd" as if that absolves them of blame. I know a lot of the old school nerds could be a bit socially tone deaf, but at least most of them genuinely tried and were suitably penitent when called on it.
