Oh look, a Hetalia secret that wasn't made by me!

(I am the trans Iceland headcanon anon from a few weeks back - and, can I say, I have a lot of feelings about gender and sexuality headcanons in Hetalia, and especially about stuff that gets brought up in the context of holiday events - a.k.a strip-and-fanservice-fests).

But yes, I agree with you. I really don't think it's fair that people point to that scene as hard evidence. Headcanon fodder? Certainly. It's just food for thought, and you can eat it a hundred different ways.

But I find it especially bothersome that Russia saying he never feels 'that way' implies that he's ace. Because only ace people aren't into being spontaneously sexually groped by somebody they aren't close to in that manner, right? Maybe he's just not into, you know, /that/.
